TASC Engages a Child with Special Learning Needs

K was a boy with significant special needs. He constantly disrupted learning activities and refused to engage, especially if the learning task required written work. Using the TASC Framework, K was invited to research his special interest. He chose to research his religion and it soon became obvious that he has a special gift with regard to visual spatial ability. He spent several days fully engaged in designing his special mosque, even working at home. The written work is based on his own research. He was very proud when his work was exhibited in the school. He has shown that when he is involved in negotiating his own activies - with the scaffolding provided by TASC, he is on Task!
