The National TASC Centre, UK is now permanently based at the Bannerdale Centre in Sheffield.

Broadly, we provide Continuing Professional Development in TASC Problem-solving and Thinking Skills.

We work with Local Authorities, clusters of schools (both state and independent), Learning Networks, individual schools, colleges and universities.

Let's introduce the team of TASC Facilitators!

Belle Wallace

Belle Wallace is the creator of, and inspiration behind, the TASC Framework, and she has been an influential figure in studies of children’s thinking processes and cognitive development. She has always been committed to re-addressing and perfecting the interactions of learning and teaching, and to working closely with teaching staff in order to understand the needs of the individual child.

Belle has served on the Executive Committee of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children; she has been editor of Gifted Education International since 1981 (now SAGE Publishers); and is immediate past President of NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education).

Her publications are many: most recently, she has published a series of 7 Problem-solving and Thinking Skills books extending topics taken from the National Curriculum Framework (UK) (Published by Routledge: book.orders@tandf.co.uk).

Recently, Belle has been a made a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts in recognition of her service to education.

Andy Willmoth

Andy is a National TASC Trainer and an independent education consultant. Having worked in the primary sector for many years, he became a consultant headteacher for Kent LEA, working with a geographical cluster of schools. His recent roles include working as a Consultant Leader for the Primary Leadership Programme, Tutor for the YGT Outreach Programme, Headteacher Induction Tutor, Leading from the Middle Facilitator and Specialist Advisor for Science and Mathematics. Andrew is a facilitator, workshop leader and speaker for school and cluster events. He is also interested in Appreciative Inquiry and Communication and is a trained Mentor-coach.

Jane Greatorex

Jane is Deputy Head at Dobcroft Infant School in Sheffield and has specialised in teaching and learning at Early Years, Foundation, and Key Stage 1. Since being trained by Belle in the TASC Framework 3 years ago, she has since led training and supported practice within her school. She has also been a member of the Sheffield working party which has aimed to develop and embed best practice using the TASC Framework across Sheffield schools, and she has shared this work at Local Authority Conferences. She is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic TASC practitioner and an experienced facilitator.

Collette Waters

Collette is a member of the Senior Management Team and Hub Co-ordinator at Dobcroft Infant School in Sheffield. She has worked in Primary Education for over 20 years, specialising in Key Stage 1, and demonstrating that young learners can competently take ownership of their learning. She an enthusiastic TASC practitioner and facilitator and is devoted to a philosophy that inspires young people to learn with confidence and independence. She is keen to share this passion with colleagues through training and the sharing of good practice.
